At this atypical February 12 Science Fair, science teachers from across the region came to check out what’s trending in science kits. Contents of the kits, purchased by BOCES from several vendors, are used at all grade levels, including kindergarten, where students use them to explore “Materials in Our World.” The kits are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), as well as New York State Learning Standards.
The Instructional Services & Professional Development division has been providing science kits to component districts for more than 20 years—and has the building of these customized kits down to a science.
