When Project SEARCH interns need to get ready for the workforce, CTEC is there to help.
On December 8, the interns took a day off from their assignments at Good Samaritan Hospital to make the rounds at CTEC. First stop was the salon, where Cosmetology I students styled the interns for success with manicures, blowouts and work-ready makeup. Next, the Project SEARCH group met with Work-Based Learning Coordinator Donna Stonis who shared business etiquette tips for navigating a new job. The Culinary Arts Dining Room was their final destination. Instructor Kendall Brenner offered a hands-on tutorial on courteous mealtime conduct over a delicious, student-prepared lunch.
The CTEC day trip is a valuable learning opportunity for the interns, whose main goal is employment at the end of the year-long Project SEARCH program.
